I lived in Gurnee for a little while and the pickings are slim.

Tony Paisans is a nice Italian at Milwaukee and Washington. Also on that corner (across the street) are Stevens Steakhouse (I've never been) and Tacos El Norte. Tacos El Norte has great food, but is not very upscale.

Also, near the mall (Grand and I-294) there are all the usual chains, including Appleby's, Chili's, Ruby Tuesday's and a Rain Forest Cafe, among others. None of these are my favorite, but that's about the extent of what Gurnee has to offer.

There are a number of nice places over in Libertyville.

Metromix.com is a good source for checking things out.

The Rain Forest Cafe in Gurnee Mills Mall. There is also a skating rink and a movie theater at the mall if you are looking for something to do before or after your meal.

There is also an Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse and Joes Crab Shack near Six Flags.

Tacos El Norte has great food!

I know there is a Pizzeria Uno in Gurnee. Ive only been to the one in Chicago, which is pretty good so I would imagine it would be the same in Gurnee.

I have heard that Salutos Italian Restaurant is good too, but again, I've never been there myself.
